Help Preserve Automotive History
At Revs, we believe automobiles are more than machines—they are artifacts of innovation, competition, design, and culture. Our mission is to preserve, study, and share automotive history through one of the world’s most significant collections of historic automobiles, race cars, and archival materials.
We are seeking an experienced Classic Car Mechanic & Restoration Specialist to join our workshop team and help care for a collection that spans more than a century of automotive development. This position is responsible for the mechanical preservation, conservation, restoration, and operational readiness of historically significant vehicles, including many of the most important racing and performance automobiles ever built.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a collection that is actively researched, exhibited, and driven. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring these vehicles remain authentic, functional, and capable of sharing their stories with future generations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and preservation work on historic automobiles and race cars
- Execute restoration and conservation projects while maintaining historical accuracy and authenticity
- Prepare vehicles for road exercise, demonstrations, and historic motorsport events
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure long-term preservation of the collection
- Document work performed and maintain detailed service records
- Collaborate with curatorial, collections, marketing, archival, and research staff to support historically accurate vehicle stewardship
- Assist with vehicle transportation, installation, and operation for exhibitions and events
- Travel occasionally to support historic racing events, concours exhibitions, and educational programs
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience working with classic, vintage, racing, or high-performance automobiles
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with engine, drivetrain, suspension, braking, and electrical systems found in historic vehicles
- Understanding of restoration techniques and principles
- Experience preparing vehicles for historic motorsport events is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently while contributing within a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with basic computer software
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
Preferred Experience
- Historic racing vehicle preparation and support
- Experience in maintaining and repairing significant European marques such as: Porsche, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Bentley, as well as classic American marques
- Museum or large collection vehicle experience
