917K Shines at Heritage Invitational as Revs Wins NAAMY Award

A weekend of heritage, horsepower, and storytelling excellence

On April 5, 2025, The Revs Institute proudly participated in the third annual Heritage Invitational in Charlotte, North Carolina—an event that celebrated Porsche’s legacy in motorsport with a curated collection of historically significant models. Among the standout vehicles was The Revs Institute’s own 1971 Porsche 917K, instantly recognizable by its iconic Martini Racing livery.

The 917K’s presence added weight to an already impressive lineup that included Porsche legends like the 1955 550 Spyder, the 1959 718 RSK, the 1960 Abarth Carrera GTL, the 1964 904 Carrera GTS, and the 1979 Kremer 935 K3. As always, the 917K served not just as a visual centerpiece, but as a symbol of Porsche’s enduring influence in the world of motorsport. Its placement at the Heritage Invitational was a celebration of form, function, and legacy–values at the core of The Revs Institute’s mission.

A Win for Storytelling: Revs Receives NAAMY Award

In addition to the event in Charlotte, Revs Institute was honored with a NAAMY Award from the National Association of Automobile Museums (NAAM). The institute received top recognition in the Films & Videos category for Episode 2 of its Active Matter series, titled “Perfectly Imperfect.”

This award-winning episode highlights the 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ, showcasing the thoughtful tension between preservation and performance. It tells the story of what it means to keep a car historically honest–celebrating every scuff, every detail, every decision. Through Active Matter, Revs Media captures the deeper narrative behind each vehicle, revealing not just what they are, but what they mean.
