A Car Rich in Racing History

The victorious 1958 Vanwall Formula 1 is a true legend of motorsport. The Vanwall transformed from its early fragility into a dominant force within two seasons, securing nine Grand Prix victories between 1957 and 1958.  Its success peaked in 1958, with Stirling Moss and Tony Brooks each claiming three wins, strong team support from Stuart Lewis-Evans, and ultimately, the Formula 1 Constructors’ World Championship.

Revs Institute’s meticulous restoration of the Vanwall captivated judges and attendees alike. From its four-cylinder in-line engine to its aerodynamic design, every detail of the car tells a story of innovation and racing excellence.

A Celebration of Preservation

In addition to the Vanwall winning best in class, the 1955 Lancia D50 took home second place in the Formula 1 Class.

Winning at Amelia Island is no small feat, and both victories are a testament to Revs Institute’s dedication to preserving automotive history and showcasing motorsport’s most iconic moments.

These victories are a tribute to the visionaries who built and raced these incredible machines.  We are honored to share this piece of Formula 1 heritage with enthusiasts and to celebrate its legacy at such a prestigious event.

Continuing the Legacy

Revs Institute’s wins adds another chapter to its growing legacy as a premier institution for automotive preservation. The Vanwall’s success at Amelia Island is not just about winning an award—it’s about keeping the spirit of motorsport alive for future generations.
